Oral health research shows a strong link between oral health and overall health. ODS believes that when members see a dentist regularly and maintain a healthy mouth, it can help keep the rest of their body healthy, too. Through our Oral Health, Total Health program, ODS offers additional preventive benefits to diabetics and pregnant women in their third trimester.
ODS also provides other evidence-based dental benefits, including routine oral cancer screenings with every exam.
ViziLite – Brush Biopsy
If, during an exam, additional screening is required, ODS covers ViziLite and Brush Biopsy, two nonsurgical methods of detecting abnormal cells in the mouth.
